Single Leg Romanian Deadlift / Varied Load Hold

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating a single leg romanian deadlift (single leg hip hinge exercise that trains the posterior chain – hamstring and glutes whilst also requiring stability of the trunk/torso) with a same side load hold (weight closer to ones grounded leg) and an opposing arm load hold (requiring one to counter the rotational pull of the kettlebell whilst performing the exercise).

The single leg romanian deadlift is a great exercise for those wishing to improve strength and control unilaterally compared to the barbell romanian deadlift which loads both legs at once.  Individuals with a deficit left to right or recovering from lower limb injuries and undertaking sports that involve a lot of single leg loading i.e. running or any sport that involves running will benefit.
