Some simple spinal flexion exercises for those individuals who have an extension intolerance in their lower back

The lower back is probably one of the most common body regions clients present to P4O with when describing pain and discomfort.  Often individuals present with some sensitivity around certain postures or positions.  Extension intolerance or sensitivity of taking the spine into extension is common for some.

In the videos below osteopath Heath Williams demonstrates a couple of simple lower back flexion biased exercises / movements that one could perform when sitting or utilising the chair.  In addition to these, the child’s pose, lying on the back with knees hugged to chest and cat cow modified are two other positions/movements that we may often prescribe.
