Goodmorning – Grooving The Hip Hinge Pattern

The hip hinge in addition to the squat, lunge, step etc is one of those fundamental movement patterns that I think all people should master.  It is also a great movement pattern that allows an individual to progress to other loaded hip hinge patterns such as the Romanian deadlift, goodmorning, deadlift etc.   In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a training bar (8kg) goodmorning.  The light loaded bar provides the individual with an external cue.  In addition this we are also ensuring they are able to perform the other exercises listed above.  For those of you who are looking develop strength and mobility through the posterior chain, then be sure to incorporate some hinging pattern exercises into your program.
