Barbell Ab Rollout Progressions

I have recently been playing around with the barbell as a tool to perform an abdominal rollout after seeing S&C coach Daniel DiPasqua performing it at Elite Sports Performance.

In the videos below you will see two different versions of the barbell ab rollout.  The first video is a basic version of ab rollout out, with the second video being a progression on the first due to the altered ground contact points (knee and foot).

 

For those of you who dont have an ab roller or freeform board, this is a great exercise to eccentrically load the abdominals in the sagittal plane.

The goal is to try and maintain a neutral spine throughout the range of movement.  You can regress this exercise by reducing the distance that you move the bar out in front of you.
