Band Resisted Hip Extension – Glute Activation Drill
In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a standing single leg band resisted hip extension drill to work on glute activation when extending the hip. Whilst this is very much an isolated exercise, I still find this useful for the client as it helps them gain an understanding of feeling the glute activate in hip extension whilst maintaining a stable spine. Typically we see many people unable to extend through the hip without compensating through the lower back and this is just one of many different ways one can look to achieve this.
