Straight and Bent Knee Calf Raises

In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a loaded (ipsilateral kettlebell hold) straight leg and bent knee calf raises.  The straight leg calf raise biases the gastrocnemius muscle whilst the bent knee calf raise bias the soleus muscles.  Both exercises are a must for those wishing to train their calf muscles and these are both often prescribed for those individuals recovering from lower limb conditions such as tendinopathies and muscle strains.
