AMBER SKURKA
Osteopath
Amber is an osteopath with a strong passion for movement, exercise, and patient-centred care. She graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Osteopathy) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy).
Her interest in osteopathy grew from a love of sport from a young age, having competed in a wide range of sports including football, netball and athletics. This sparked her curiosity around how the body moves, how injuries can impact people’s ability to stay active, and how rehabilitation can help individuals return to the activities they enjoy.
Amber takes a holistic approach to treatment, combining hands-on osteopathic care, exercise rehabilitation, movement advice and patient education. She enjoys working with patients to understand the factors contributing to their symptoms and develop practical strategies that support both recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Amber has an interest treating neck and low back pain, foot and ankle complaints, TMJ and jaw pain, sporting injuries and persistent pain. She is also trained in dry needling and incorporates this into treatment where appropriate.
More recently Amber has a growing passion for running biomechanics and exercise-related injuries. Her own involvement in running and strength training allows her to bring a practical understanding of the demands of staying active into her clinical approach.
Amber is particularly interested in continuing to develop her knowledge of running biomechanics and sports rehabilitation, complementing Principle Four Osteopathy’s strong focus on movement, exercise rehabilitation and active approaches to musculoskeletal care.
Outside of the clinic, Amber is an avid runner and enjoys training at the gym, learning more about exercise and biomechanics, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She is passionate about helping patients feel confident in their bodies and supporting them to maintain an active lifestyle.
Amber is available for consultations at our Melbourne CBD clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
