Swiss Ball Superman – Challenging Trunk Stability

In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients demonstrating a swiss ball superman exercise.  This is a variation on the traditional superman (birddog) exercise that requires one to maintain trunk stability whilst moving opposing arms and legs off the ground and reducing ones base of support.  The swiss ball allows for trunk movement and one must therefore work hard to stabilise the trunk as they perform this movement.
