Seated Powerband Hip Abduction Exercise For Training The Glutes
In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients demonstrating a seated powerband hip abduction exercise that focuses on training the hip abductors (gluteal medius) muscle. This exercise is also quite specific to the box squat as it places the individual in a seated position (wider foot stance) with the band placed around the legs. The individual is required to maintain contact with the foot on the ground and then abduct the legs against the resistance of the band. This is a great exercise as part of ones movement preparation for training or at the end of ones training session to carry out some volume work.
