Romanian Deadlift For Building Posterior Chain Strength
In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a romanian deadlift. The romanian deadlift involves a partial bent knee (you can also perform this with a stiff leg – straight leg) and focuses on loading the hip mostly (due to the fixed knee position) and therefore loads the gluteals and hamstring muscles. The key with this is keeping the load close to the body (bar) and maintaining a neutral spine position (so to reduce any risk of overloading the spine).
