Integrated Spine and Shoulder Mobility – Overhead Movement
In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams demonstrating a combined spine and shoulder mobility drill to help with overhead movement. Heath is sitting tall against the wall with his back (spine) flat. Holding the band (or stick) he pushes his arms overhead (aiming to keep hand on elbow on the wall) whilst maintaining a flat spine and working to improve his integrated movement pattern.
For those individuals who are performing overhead resistance training exercises and are finding that their shoulder and spine mobility are impacting on one another, this is a great drill to add into the program.
