Hip Mobility Drill
In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing one of my favourite hip and groin mobility exercises. The idea is to find a gentle stretch in the starting position and then rock back without compromising the lower back too much (that is trying to maintain a neutral spine position when rocking back into hip flexion). If one finds this challenging then I will limit the range that they move into. If one does not care too much about what is happening at the lower back, then you can rock back to create more of a hip and groin stretch. This can be performed with a static hold or you can rock back and forth in a controlled manner (I prefer this option).
