The Goodmorning Exercise – Building Back and Hip Strength

In the image below you will see osteopath Heath Williams performing a goodmorning exercise with the barbell. This is a great exercise for those wishing to develop and build strength through their lower back, gluteals and hamstrings.  For those individuals who have back issues that prevent them from spinal loading, you may need to look at training the lower back and hips through other exercises.  This is a great all round exercise as it requires the individual to control the load on their back and ensure they hinge at their hips and maintain a neutral spine.
