The Front Squat – Modified Barbell Hold
In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a front squat with modified barbell hold (across shoulders). The front squat is a great exercise for training both the lower limb and trunk because it requires the individual to squat in a vertical direction and maintain control through the feet, knees, hips, spine and sholder girdle. The upright trunk position means that force is loaded vertically through the spine and often the vertical squat is my go to first before introducing back squats or box squats.
