Freeform Board Push Up
In the video below you will see Principle Four Osteopathy osteopath Heath Williams demonstrating a Freeform board push up with frontal plane slide at his Melbourne Docklands clinic (Pilates on Bourke). This is a great exercise for those individuals wishing to add some variety to their bodyweight training routine or horizontal pushing exercise list. The individual performs a push up with one hand on the freeform board, followed by a push up where they slide the hand that is placed on the freeform board out to the side. This requires a fair degree of control with mobility and strength and more weight is placed on the non freeform board hand. For those individuals who have had previous shoulder injuries, please consult with your osteopath, physiotherapist or exercise physiologist before trying this.
