Deadlifting With Dumbbells – An Osteopaths Perspective

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy performing a deadlift from the floor using dumbbells.  The deadlift is a great exercise for those wishing to build strength through the whole body (think lower body, core and even the upper body for holding the load).  Dumbbells enable the individual to perform the movement through a greater range of motion compared to the barbell with load as well as allows one to vary the hand hold and upper limb position.  The individual must balance and control the loads on either side of the body which differs to the barbell hand hold.
