Calf Raises – Building Strength
In the videos below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a barbell and single leg bent knee calf raise. This exercise was prescribed as part of the treatment for rehabilitation of an achilles tendinopathy complaint. Loading the calf muscles and achilles tendon is an important part of the rehab phase. The client initially started on bodyweight calf raises on the floor to progression to a step where a greater range of motion could be explored. This was also the case for a bent knee calf raise which focuses more on the soleus muscle.
