Varying Your Lat Pull Down or Chin Up Grip

When it comes to performing a lat pull down or chin up, often when I speak to the individual they often will perform the exercise using only one or perhaps two different grip positions.  From a functional strength and conditioning point of view, often I encourage my clients to develop strength in the upper body pulling movements across a variety of hand positions.  In the image below you will see an example of some of the grips that can be used.  I would also like to add that an offset (mixed grip) is commonly prescribed.
