Using Your Environment When Exercising

When it comes to using your environment to adapt and challenge your training program (be it for progressing/regressing an exercise or helping you to correct a pattern dysfunction), there are many different ways this can be used.  In the image below osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrates how he uses the wall to help facilitate a more upright trunk position when performing a goblet squat.  The wall is a great external barrier and visual tool to use when it comes to helping one adopt a more upright trunk position when performing all types of squats i.e. overhead squat, back squat, front squat, goblet squat.
