Using Bands Whilst You Bench Press

Bands are one of those great training tools to keep in your training bag due to their versatility.  You can use bands for adding or reducing resistance training loads or for every day stretching.  In the video below we see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrate how a 41 inch yellow power band from Ironedge can be used within his bench press training routine to provide additional resistance.  The band is wrapped around his chest and bar so that when he is pushing the bar away from his chest, the band will be increasing in tension and he is having to work harder during this phase of the movement.

For more information on how you can incorporate bands into your everyday training program, be sure to book in at Principle Four Osteopathy.
