TRX Assisted Lateral Lunge

The TRX is a great tool that can be used for training the whole body.  In a clinical sense I like to use the TRX as a tool to help offload some weight and have my clients explore a greater range of motion with control.  For those individuals who find that they do not have the strength to work through a full range of motion of an exercise, often the exercise can be adapted to reduce the demands placed on the body and the TRX helps do this by providing stability in this particular exercise.

In the video below we see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrate a TRX assisted lateral lunge.  By holding onto the TRX as you move into the lateral lunge, the individual is able to gain greater stability and support, therefore allowing one to increase their range of motion safely.

If you are currently suffering from a lower limb injury, please consult with your osteopath before trying this exercise.
