TRX Archer Push Ups

The TRX and Gymnastic rings are a great tool to use for everyday training and is an ideal adjunct to conventional weight training to help you build bodyweight strength.  In the video below, osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrates a TRX archer push up.  It involves the individual lowering themselves to the bottom phase of the push up and then moving one arm away from their body in the horizontal flexion plane until it is straight and then bringing it back to the side of the body.

For those individuals looking to develop their bodyweight strength, this is a great exercise to incorporate into ones upper body routine.  This exercise can be regressed by changing the angle of the push up or by limiting the range of motion that ones arm moves away from the body.
