True Stretch Hamstring Mobiliser – An Osteopaths Perspective

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients demonstrating a true stretch hamstring stretch.  The true stretch is the functional stretching cage that was developed by Gary Gray to be used for upright treatment strategies for the body.  Some of my mates call it the upright treatment table.  In this video you will see the client place their front leg on the platform with a partial bent knee.  They are then introducing a slight anterior tilt through the pelvis and add in frontal plane (side to side hip movement) and transverse plane (rotational movement) through the torso and pelvis to assist in the stretch of the hamstring.  The hands are placed on various bars within the cage to optimise support and to help facilitate positioning and movement through the body.   This is just one of may different ways of how the true stretch can be applied to help mobilise the many various body parts in an upright manner.
