Traverse Wall Plank

I was recently scouring YouTube for some new bodyweight exercise ideas to try out and came across a great Parkour video demonstrating a number of bodyweight exercises using the wall.  This therefore led me to trying out a number of conventional exercises that have been adapted to using the environment around us.

Below you will see a video of the traverse wall plank.  This is essentially a plank that has you moving from side to side.  The main difference between the the traverse wall plank and the plank performed on the ground is that your feet are placed against the wall and you are required to create tension through the shoulders to maintain a plank like position.  The challenge also lies with being able to stabilise through the upper limb, torso and wall contact whilst moving laterally.

A quick go of this exercise had me thinking that this would be a great advanced exercise for those wanting to improve shoulder stability and strength and integrate upper body, torso and lower body trunk control.
