Trap Bar Bench Press – Stability Challenged Bench Press

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy performing a trap bar bench press.   The design of the trap bar is such that when used to perform a bench press, the load is somewhat unstable and therefore one must work to stabilise the bar during the pressing and lowering phase.    This exercise is probably best performed at sub maximal loads and not to failure to minimise risk of injury.
