Theraband Straight Arm Pull Down With Scapular Stability

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a theraband straight arm pull down that has been been prescribed to engage the latissimus dorsi.  As you can clearly see in the video, the client has been asked to segment the movement by stabilising through his scapulothoracic joint (retracting and downwardly moving it to create stability).  This is one of many different exercises that one can implement to build on strength through the shoulder and back.  The emphasis of pulling the scapular down and back was brought about so to help improve the clients strength in the muscles around the scapular as well as improve the positioning of the glenohumeral joint.
