The Spiderman Exercise

Here we have Osteopath Heath Williams displaying how to perform the spiderman in reverse.   The spiderman moving forward is literally the same arm and leg movements, but moving forward.

This is a great exercise for training whole body.  It requires the individual to develop mobility through their hips, upper limb and maintain a stable torso.  By adding in the vertical movement (push up), there is also a need to develop strength through the range of motion.

If you are wanting to try this out, start with smaller ranges of movement through the hips and upper limb and reduce the depth of the movement.  Some other great ways to vary up this exercise is to play around with the speed of movement (fast or slow), reaching distances (forward/back) with hands and feet as well as depth of movement.
