The Bird Dog Exercise is a commonly prescribed exercise for those individuals wanting to improve general core strength.  It requires the individual to balance and maintain good trunk stability whilst moving both their hip/leg and shoulder/arm.  This exercise can be performed by repeating the number of times you lift both the arm and leg up.  It is important to maintain a neutral spine posture thoughout this movement as well as a natural breathing pattern.

If you currently suffer from a musculoskeletal injury and/or would like to have an exercise program developed specifically to suit your needs, then please contact Principle Four Osteopathy.
