Have You Suffered A Whiplash Injury?

Whiplash injuries often occur when an individual is involved in car accident or situation where they experience an unexpected force.  Typical whiplash injuries can present as both neck and lower back pain.

Whiplash injuries often result in an individual developing soreness in their neck or lower back and result in a lot of muscle spasm and guarding and perhaps irritation of joints in the neck and back.

Treatment and management can consist of gentle soft tissue massage, traction to the joints, gentle stretching, bracing or taping and joint mobilisation.  The Osteopath will also provide you with some gentle stretches and rehabilitation exercises to perform to help with restoring normal range of movement.

The vast majority of whiplash injuries will generally resolve over a number of weeks to 1 – 2 months with conservative treatment and management.
