Strengthening Your Calf Muscles – Focusing On The Soleus Muscle

Recently I attended a lower limb tendinopathy course that was led by Peter Malliaris (physiotherapist) at his practice Complete Sports Care in Hawthorn Melbourne.  This one day workshop focused on the assessment and treatment/management of Achilles tendinopathies, patellar tendinopathies and hamstring tendinopathies.  In regards to Achilles tendinopathy, a big focus was on strengthening the calf muscles (gastroc and soleus).  In the videos below you will see a couple of versions of how one might perform a strength exercise focusing on the soleus muscle in both the home and gym environment.
