Squats Squats Squats

When it comes to squatting, there are literally 1000’s of different variations of the squat.  In the image above I have tried to highlight perhaps the two most common variations in the squat i.e. vertical squat (similar knee and hip bend) with body translating more so in the up and down fashion.  Then there is the hip dominant squat, where ones hips translate posteriorly and there is more movement through the hips relative to the knees.  Both are squats.  Both are great squats.  Both train the body slightly differently with regards to where the work is occurring.  Next time you are in the gym and smashing out a few squats, back the weight off and see how your body feels when you perform the squat movement as shown above that isnt your typical preference.
