Squat Matrix – Feeding The Body Variation In Movement and Loading

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a squat matrix (various stance positions) with a bodyweight squat.  The idea here is to vary the load through the body from the feet up to the hip so to challenge its ability to adapt and load.  In this instance a squat matrix was incorporated as part of the rehab program from an ankle sprain.  As a closed chain exercise this is a great exercise as the foot stays planted during the squat movement and the individual will self select their range of motion.
