Single Leg Step Up – Hip Dominant Focus

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a single leg step with a focus on the hip more so than the knee.  This is completed by focusing on a vertical shin placement when descending from the box so that the posterior chain (gluteals and hamstrings) are required to control the movement.  At the top of the single leg step up movement the client has been asked to raise their non planted leg to 90 degrees and lock out into hip extension.  This is a great exercise for anyone wanting to focus on ipsilateral strength whilst having to control and balance themselves through the torso.
