Single Leg Balance Reach

Single leg balance reach is a great movement assessment strategy as well as exercise as it allows us to identify and compare the left to right side of the body and this objective marker can be used to train the individual in an attempt to achieve symmetry.  A single leg balance reach can be performed by using multiple drivers (head, hand, non weight bearing foot) and one can be assessed and exercised for a particular reach point at any particular height/angle or distance.

As an osteopath who regularly deals withe clients who are returning to sport or everyday activity from an injury, the single leg balance reach exercise is often incorporated into all of my lower limb rehabilitation programs.
