Seated Goodmorning Exercise

This exercise was inspired by a recent article that I read by the Strength Sensei Charles Poliquin who wrote about the Seated Goodmorning.  Prior to this exercise I had never tried this before, often focusing on performing the conventional goodmorning exercise.  As Charles wrote in this article, the aim to is lower the trunk down until the ribs hit the inside thighs.  Throughout this movement you are aiming to maintain a neutral spine so to avoid flexion of the back which may increase ones risk of a back injury.  Because the hips are relatively fixed on the bench when you hinging through the hips/spine, I had to really focus on tilting through the pelvis and maintaining a neutral spine.

For those wishing to try this exercise, I would advise starting by feeling the movement pattern first (place a dowel stick on your back) and perform the exercise before progressing to weights.
