Rolling With The Leg As The Driver

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients practicing their rolling patterns from supine to prone and prone to supine using the leg as the initiator off movement.  When we learn to roll as babies (remember, no one teaches them this), they will roll with an ipsilateral pattern as well as a contralateral pattern.  When rolling with the leg as the driver off movement, the leg should move first followed by the trunk and then upper limb.

This is a great all over body movement drill to perform as it gets the whole body functioning as one unit and from a clinical perspective, you can tell a lot of from how one functions as a whole when rolling.
