Reactive Neuromuscular Training RNT

I was first introduced to the concept of reactive neuromuscular training RNT when completing my FMS and SFMA certifications with the Functional Movement Systems.  The idea being that if we look to exaggerate ones dysfunction or movement error, the body’s natural response will be to correct this.  In the image below you will see an example of this with the squat.  We have one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients who expresses a tendency to shift their hips to the right through the squat.  By placing the band around the hips with a pulling tension to the right (encouraging hip movement to the right), one will look to correct this and reduce the weight shift to the right.  This principle can be applied in almost any situation and you will determine quickly if it is going to be a positive strategy for the client.
