Quadruped Position For Movement Training and Rehab

The quadruped position (4 points on ground), although the image above shows a progressed version (knees off the ground) is a great position to get clients into and progress from.  The 4 point kneeling position is a position that we have all explored in our life i.e. crawling as a baby/toddler.  In this position I will often have clients focus on breathing patterns, perform birddog variations (movement of arms and legs) to challenge ones ability to maintain a stable torso whilst moving as well as adding in crawling patterns.  4 point (quadruped) positions can be incorporated into all aspects of training, be it from rehab through to movement prep or part of the main training program.
