Powerband Hip Mobility

In the image below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy demonstrating one of his favourite powerband hip mobility exercises.  This requires the individual to place preferably a 41 inch thick band around their thigh and have the leg placed parallel to the pulling force.  The idea is to maintain the leg in a position whereby there is enough pulling force to facilitate some mobility work, but you are able to hold the leg in the correct position for a set period of time.  Start by holding it for 30 seconds and build up to 1 – 2 minutes.

This is a great drill for those wanting to work on hip mobility as part of their prehab and rehab program. This blog was written by Osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy.
