Patellar Tendon Loading Rehab Exercise

In the video below you will see a modified decline board single leg squat i.e. we didnt have a decline board so we simply raised the heel to bias the load through the knee and the client places their hands on the wall to increase stability and control and are asked to perform partial range single leg squats.  With lower limb tendinopathies the research informs us that strength training is an important part of the rehab process.  In this video you will see one exercise prescribed that focuses on loading the knee.   We have borrowed the principles of management from Physio Pete Malliaris who often uses a pain scale of 3/10 following 24 hours of activity to inform us if we can progress or not.  This client has been advised that should their discomfort levels be less than 3/10 or less than pre activity/exercise levels 24 hours following, then they can continue to progress with their exercise regime.
