Overhead Squat With A Focus On Opening Up The Hips

In the video below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a dowel stick overhead squat (unloaded) with a focus on opening up through the hips once they hit their first sticking point at the bottom of the movement.  The aim is to push knees out and let the individual move themselves slightly deeper into the overhead squat position in a controlled manner.  This can be progressed through sets/reps and time spent in the position with a plan to gradually start loading the overhead squat with a barbell.
