Multi Directional Hopping For Ankle Rehabilitation Program

Hopping should be incorporated into ones ankle rehabilitation program if one is looking to return to a multidirectional sport.  Hopping up and down (vertical height) and forwards (horizontal) are commonly prescribed.  Usually I will look to incorporate side to side hopping (bounding) and rotational hopping with the aim of teaching the individual to be able to hop for distance, stick the land and push off and produce power through the grounded leg. In the video below you will see an example of one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a rotational hop as part of their rehab program.
