New Zealand Physiotherapist Brian Mulligan is founder of the Mulligan Technique (Natural Apophyseal Glides (NAGS), Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glides (SNAGS), Mobilisations with Movement (MWM) etc) for the treatment of many musculoskeletal injuries i.e. neck pain, back pain and upper and lower extremity injuries. His techniques are great because they can be tested very quickly with an injured client and are results focused. That is, if they reduce the clients pain and improve range of movement, then they are indicated. NAGS, SNAGS and MWM have traditionally been taught to Physiotherapists by Physiotherapist, however there are now more and more other allied health professionals (Osteopaths) that have been trained in this treatment approach. I have personally undertaken the Mulligan Technique course for the Upper Body/Upper Extremity and these practical techniques to be great for clinical practice. I am currently enrolled on the Lower Body/Extremity Course and am looking forward to completing this course.
