Modified Side Plank

In the image below you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients demonstrating a modified side plank.  This side plank variation is a regression on the traditional side plank core exercise as they have incorporated 3 points of contact with the floor (2* feet and elbow) compared to the traditional side plank which has only 2 points of contact (1* foot and elbow).  The side plank is a great exercise for building on ones ability to maintain lateral chain bracing stability.  It requires them to be able to maintain stability and control through the pelvic, core and shoulder girdle.
