Medicine Ball Throws

The medicine ball is a great tool to help develop power throughout the whole body or through sections depending on your stance/start position.  In the videos below you will see two different examples of how the medicine ball can be incorporated into ones training program to develop strength and power.

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams stand and drive through the legs, through the torso and upper body to throw the medicine into the wall before catching it again.  This requires him to both load and explode through the body and then catch the ball and repeat this drill.

This exercise can be added into ones program by working on sets/reps or time.

In the video below you will see osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy performing a tall kneeling overhead medicine ball throw in the sagittal plane.  This exercise can be performed sitting or standing as well.
