In the video below osteopath Heath Williams of Principle Four Osteopathy is demonstrating a lateral lunge starting from a narrow stance with a single arm dumbbell open arc from low to high point. This is a great exercise for training the body in the frontal plane and transverse plane (upper body). You will see that he is performing the exercise with speed and a relatively light load. This exercise could also be performed more slowly with a heavier load, however the focus on this day was faster movement.

One must be careful though with the movement of the upper limb at the top of the arc if there is any history of instability in the shoulder as this position can be quite vulnerable for some. The exercise also requires Heath to decelerate the load at the top phase of the movement and therefore a lighter load is a good place to start if you are not used to performing this exercise.
