Lateral Lunge To At Ground Reach Using A Foam Roller

In the video above you will see one of Principle Four Osteopathy clients performing a lateral lunge to at ground reach using a foam roller. This exercise has been prescribed so to load the hips in the frontal plane and also teach the client how to feel like they can safely bend through their hips/spine to reach towards the ground.  This type of movement i.e. squat or lunge + reach (in any direction, distance, position etc) is something that we do as human beings everyday.  Sometimes following an injury we find that these movements can be painful and/or be ones that we are fearful of.   As part of any exercise rehab program, it is important to restore ones function to at or better if possible ones pre injury status.  Graded exercise through varied movement is an important part of this process.
