Kettlebell Shoulder Mobiliser – Great Rehab Application

In the video below you will see osteopath Ben McChesney of Balance Osteopathy (South Melbourne) demonstrating a kettlebell shoulder mobiliser.  This is a great mobility exercise for those looking to encourage greater shoulder flexion and extension.  Holding the kettlebell and letting the arm swing and move as a pendulum from the shoulder is a nice way to encourage gentle flexion and extension.  The kettlebell shape and weight distribution also puts this ahead of of those wishing to use a dumbbell etc.  Slowly letting the arm swing back and forth for reps (10+) with a relative light kettlebell (2, 4 or 6kg) can work a treat.  Please note, if there is pain in the shoulder, please consult your osteopath or physio prior to trying this rehab exercise to ensure it is safe for you to undertake.
