The workplace environment is one area that often gets a brief mention in the allied health consultation and often clients are advised to seek out and undergo a workplace assessment to help reduce the risk of the computer set up and seated posture contributing to musculoskeletal strains and sprains.  As an Osteopath that undertakes workplace ergonomic assessments regularly, I know only too well how often many employees have a workstation set up that isn’t suited to them.  In many situations, the client inherits the working space and starts working in this area without making any changes to the chair, monitor, keyboard or mouse position.  Other factors to consider in regards to ones workplace ergonomic include:  how much light is available, is their glare, is the temperature suitable, where are the secondary equipment pieces located and how are they used etc etc.

If you are interested in knowing a little more about workplace ergonomics, I have included a few links below from the worksafe victoria.
