Get More Out Of Your Everyday Push Up Exercise

Why perform a standard push up in your everyday exercise program if you could get so much more out of your workout by simply adding to the standard push up.

In the videos below you will see osteopath Heath Williams performing a standard push up movement that progresses to a high plank with anterior shoulder hold as well as a high plank with lateral shoulder hold.

The idea of adding to the standard push up is that the individual must also learn to brace their body with three points of contact whilst moving one arm.  You can perform these exercise simply using bodyweight or you can add an external weight such as a dumbbell to perform these.
